Neorealism in the Netherlands
Somewhere in the early 90s I saw a retrospective of and about Dick Ket. Especially the story about his background, his hermit due to a heart defect, was really impressive.
A new visit to the Arnhem Museum of Modern Art – actually for the exposition of Erwin Olaf’s works – first led through a beautifully arranged exhibition about Neorealism. And again a lot of Dick Ket’s work, accompanied by Carel Willink, Pyke Koch, Raoul Hynckes, Johan Mekkink, Wim Schuhmacher, Charley Toorop and Edgar Fernhout.
A closely related style of nice and refined painting.
