Alexander Calder was last seen in the Netherlands in 1969 at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
The American Calder (1898-1976) was very impressed by the work of Mondriaan and De Stijl. He was introduced to it in Mondriaan’s Parisian studio in 1930. It is wonderful to see both artists together in the Gemeentemuseum. A very impressive and powerfull exposition.
